An Update from PWRDF

Greetings PWRDF supporting parish, 

We are writing to provide you with information to share about the Humanitarian Coalition's Appeal to End Hunger.  Conflict, climate change and COVID-19 have combined to create a deadly situation in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Families in 23 countries are facing starvation as drought and the war in Ukraine disrupt food supply. The Government of Canada has allocated $250 million toward hunger relief in countries where the situation is most dire.  As well, the government will match all donations made by individuals to the Humanitarian Coalition's Appeal to End Hunger by July 17, up to a total of $5 million. 

How parishes can help: Please add prayers for an end to hunger and for peace in the world to your worship services. Please share the attached “Hunger Appeal insert” or the information on it with your parish between now and July 17. Please encourage parishioners to send donations to PWRDF at 80 Hayden Street, 3rd floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4Y 3G2 (and add Appeal to End Hunger on the memo).
