Good morning St George's,

Yesterday's service can be found in the Services Tab of our website or directly on YouTube.   The text of my sermon can be found by clicking here.

We are looking for people who would be interested in volunteering in two areas of parish life: visitation and special services (funerals and weddings).  If you would be interested in learning how to take reserved sacrament to people who can't attend church regularly or would be willing to offer to help with funerals and weddings by doings tasks like ushering or helping in the kitchen, please let me know.

On Sunday we will be welcoming Susan Smandych who will preach and preside at our service.  For those of you who don't know her, here is a brief bio:

R. Susan Smandych recently received her MDiv (Honors) from Trinity College in Toronto, and God willing, she will be ordained as a Transitional Deacon in the Diocese of Rupert’s Land on June 15thShe was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan; completed degrees in engineering and international development; worked as a management consultant in the public and private sectors, and as a Program Manager and Director in both the non-profit and private sectors; and has traveled extensively (to 60+ countries across 6 continents). She is an Associate of the Sisters of St John the Divine (SSJD) Convent; served as an Intern at St. Paul’s Fort Garry from January-April 2021 and as a Ministry Student at Holy Trinity from September 2021 to May 2022; and is the Diocesan PWDRF representative, a member of the Anti-Black Racism Committee, a member of the Diocesan Response Team, and is leading the Credentials Committee for the upcoming Synod in October. She is very much looking forward to visiting St George's Transcona to share in worship  next Sunday and next month!

Please also pray for Susan and the other four people who will be ordained on Wednesday.

Peace to you all,

Rachel
